Scotland - Tarbet - Port Ban

Port Ban is a smallish family owned camp-site and caravan park that sits on the western coast of the Mull of Kintyre about midway along a 30 mile single track road off the A83. The site itself really consists of two sites in one with the camping section being at the far end of the site and separate from the main static caravan area.

The touring area is quite small, flat and right on the beach and apart form one other couple I had the place to myself. Each pitch is marked out and numbered and I would guess there are about 20-25 pitches in all.

There is a large toilet block with all the usual amenities in the caravan area and in the camping area there are a couple of metal cabins containing, in the Gents, two toilets, the usual standing arrangements and one shower. I have to say the toilets were spotless and had recently been cleaned. I assume the ladies were similarly provisioned

As well and the camping other facilities on site are a (reasonably priced) cafe and shop and what looked like a small clubhouse, A sports area with football nets and a green than one could play bowls (available to hire from shop) were also present.

Fees
A little expensive here as I paid £11 for the pitch and one adult which was the dearest of the week so a minus point there

All in all a nice site with stunning views but due to the weather (it rained non stop) I didn't get the best out of it. If you can cope with the fees I would recommend it.
