Default Scotland - Ullapool - Broomfield

This is a large site which caters for vans, motor homes and tents and is sited on the banks of Loch Broom. This location is perfect as it is right on the edge of the village and pubs and shops are only minutes walk away.

The site itself is well proportioned and because of the proximity of the village needs little in the way of facilities over the usual toilets and showers (20p) which were clean and tidy.

Where we pitched (at the far end of the site) he ground however was extremely rocky just under the surface and it took some time to get the pegs hammered in.

The site caters for people of all ages there with a lot of walkers and bikers but it was quiet during the night with no disturbances

Cost wise it was £8 a night for me, a small tent and a motorbike. There was no one there to collect the money when we arrived and still not there by 9am so we went into the village for breakfast returning around 10ish to square up.

All in all a good site and due to the location I will definitely use again.

Well i guess this has to be recommended!

We just held the National meet there and it's a superb loacation, pubs, restaurants and shops all within walking distance. £12 to pitch a tent and 20p for a shower, good stuff. There is also a cafe on the site (kellys Kitchen i think) so a good cooked breakfast can be had at reasonable prices.

The scenery is fantastic so if you are ever going up the West coast of Scotland i would advise stopping the night there.

It's right next to a nice stone beach that makes for a good early morning stretch of the legs

    Craig.

Why the variation in price.... I paid £6 per night to picth my Khyam!!!

Mind you was only there one night.

Yes great place, miles from anywhere. :-)
    Great countryside.

Facilities were basic but clean and importantly plenty of them.
Tentipi Safir 9 CP - Keeping us warm in the night.

Khyam Biker - Keeping me dry for the last few years.

Outwell Norfolk Lake - Keeping the family in luxury for the last couple of years.

Yup £6 per night was the agreed rate for the National. Either they thought Craig was bringing the Marquee (he did have the biggest tent there) or old age and beer has got to him and he has forgotten he was there for two nights.

    Craig,
    Care to elaborate?

maybe Craig forgot that he also paid for my tent hence £12 per night, I got the food he covered the site fees.

Old age is a terrible mistress.

hehe actually my thinking behind saying it was £12 per night and not £6 was that i was told it was £6 per night for us at the discounted price and that it was normally £12 per night so did not want to mislead anyone on the price but appparently have anyway, lol.

So is it £6 a night or £12?

Me cause confusion, how very dare you I didn't say i `paid` £12 a night i stated that as the cost, if i'd said i paid £6 a night then people might think thats the cost and i was lead to beleive we only had that price at discount.

    Jellys;
I don't know if i can get time off work for the full weekend but i could certainly make it for the Saturday night. I'll see what Dereks up to, see if he fancies it.

If you are going then PM me on XRV so we don't fill this thread up with off-topic posts.
