Thumbs up Blue Hills Touring Park, Cornwall

After a 240-mile journey from home I finally arrived at the Blue Hills Campsite to be greeted by the site owners Gary and Loo, after a warm welcome came the magical words to any road weary traveller, tea or coffee, at that point I knew my mini holiday had begun.

Gary took the time to show me the sites first class amenities including the spotless showers and toilets complete with piped music, fresh flowers and even hand soap. Then there was the laundry room with coin-operated washing machines, driers, irons, ironing boards and ample clotheshorses for hanging out washing. Next was the kitchen, great for preparing food this included a microwave and kettle, there is also a covered area with two large sink/drainers for washing up complete with washing up liquid.

On to the site it***8217;s self, there are three camping fields, one very large touring field for anything from the largest motorhome to the smallest of tents, one smaller tent only field then there is the BBQ field, this is a great field for groups to stay who want to party into the night as it is located away from the other fields and you can even have a campfire with the owners consent and they will even supply the logs when available. Every field has many table/benches and there are plenty of standpipes and hook-ups, one thing for motorhome campers to remember is wheel blocks as the fields are sloping, yes, I forgot them but Gary kindly loaned me some.

Within yards of the campsite is the coastal path, great for walking dogs and has some of the best views Cornwall has to offer and there are some wonderful tin mines only minutes away, I walked the costal path every day with Tess my Dog who was made most welcome by Gary and Loo. At this point I must add that Blue Hills is a Biker and motor club friendly site, Gary and Loo are both keen bikers and will chat bike with anyone.

Blue Hills is situated between Perranporth and St Agnes just off the B3285 and is within half a mile of Camping World, one of the best camping shops I know, my stay at Blue Hills was one of the best breaks I have ever had and I have been camping for over 20 years now, only a short drive/ride to some of the best beaches in the UK and I can honestly say, I can***8217;t wait to go back there again.

Thanks for the complements, I had a fantastic time there and as bikers Gary and Loo were great company, Gary even took me to a local road trial on the Sunday, on the way back I treated him to Sunday lunch and we talked bikes for ages...... Now that's my kind of bloke.

I have some pics of my stay and will do my best to put them on here to show just what a great place Blue Hills is to base your holiday in Cornwall.

    Thumbs up

Oh well it's happened, kept thinking about my review of Blue Hills and I just had to do it, I am off down there again next week for a long weekend.

The plan is, to go down Wed or Thurs (17th/18th) and come back Wed or Thurs 24th/25th. I will be going in my van with Tess the Dog and one of my bikes in the back to hack around on down there (the bike not the Dog).

If anyone fancies joining me just give Gary or Loo a call on the number in my report to confirm a space, you won't regret it, might see you there.
