I can understand groups, but the OP is reporting discrimination against them as a female partnered couple and thier family.. How can you justify that??

These sites aren't really descriminating against any specific sex. They allow males and females to stay just not in groups. There's numerous pubs and clubs up and down the country that won't let a group of lads in. They can go in separately and then meet up inside. I do understand where everyone's coming from on this but it is up to the site owner. I (and I suspect a lot of others) have been on sites where there's been a group of lads, all beered up talking/shouting to each other, listening to very loud music.
I was on a site recently where there was a group of 5 females. They'd been out walking all day and got back with carrier bags of wine and tins of lager. Come midnight they were still outside their tent talking very loudly and they also had 4/5 very powerful lanterns that lit up half the C/S. When I asked them to keep it down and could they turn the lanterns off, PLEASE! I was met with a barrage of abuse that would make a docker blush. I let them know what I thought about them too. So it's not only males who carry on.
I think it's this type of clientel that sites want to keep out so they have to stop ALL same sex groups, of ALL ages. So as I said at the top they are really NOT descriminating against anyone. No male groups, No female groups. No descrimination there.
I know we shouldn't have to, but if a site was contacted and the situation explained a bit of compromise might be achieved.

How can I have missed this thread for a whole month!
I also don't agree on discrimination on someone's sexuality and I would happily name and shame any campsites doing that. I also agree that this would be illegal. But I do agree on keeping the all male / female stag group drinking fraternity out. That is the target group I'm sure... however there are some pig ignorant noisy families out there as well. We camped not far from one the last time we stayed away. God help the people that were right next to them. One of their kids screamed ALL night virtually non stop.

I suppose we have self centred campers ignorant of other peoples needs just like any other walk of live. The worst thing is there seems to be nothing you can do at the time that will actually make them quieten down. I have been known to yell "shut up and show some respect for others" and it works some times but some people seem to believe it's their holiday and they can do what the will. Often a quiet word the next day with the owner of the site by 2 or 3 families will do the trick.
Mentioning the review section of www.campingforums.org.uk to the owner may also help![]()
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu
Its a shame in this day and age that this sort of discrimination continues. Whilst It's not the same issue, I have had grief booking some camp sites because I'm a bloke on his own!
Hi, I know that this is an older post - but I'm new to the forum. I own www.celticcamperco.co.uk and we have hired our classic and retro VW campervans to single sex couples. They have gone on to holiday in our area (the Snowdonia National park in North Wales and have always had a good time with no reports of any kind of discrimination. I do hope you found somewhere -I'd certainly be happy to help you in the future.
