National Trust | North West | Camping in the Lake District | Wasdale

    I imagine it's stunning setting.
Can't find any pics of the campsite though.

spent quite a bit of time at Wast with both the Outward Bound (eskdale lodge) and the TA/ACF, even managed to do a MOD survival course there and its where i went to hide when my dad died several years ago. Its stunning landscape caters for absolutely everything the outdoor enthusiast can want without the 'tourism' of most of the lakes, a great location.

We only used the NT site at Wast head once from memory as it was run under some daft NT rules on both camper numbers (think it was like 8 tents max) and 'hush' hours (lights out, no noise after 9pm).. from the reports here that has now been dropped thankfully!

Really would like to get back as its been nearly ten years from my last visit, many thanks for up to date info on this site in particular.

Do you know if the Wasdale Head Inn still has its camping field?

    Default wast water nt campsite

the Wasdale Head Inn does still have the camping field, with the very untreated water. its in a very usefull location.

Wast NT now has no noise after about 11ish. Loads more tents are aloud on site they prefere everyone to be at least 6 meters apart.

The view looking towards Scarfell, Kirkfell etc got voted britains favarite view thanks to Kevin and Sally being filmed there as part of a episode for Corrie.

I plan to go there this year. I go to the Lakes 2 -3 months of the year, trying to do alot of the Wainwright walks so far ive done about 60 theres about 217 in total. Just done Blencathra via Sharpes Edge then down falls Hell. Realy enjoyed it. I camp each time at various sites that are close to the start of the walks.
