Default Recommended sites, Luxemburg and France

Have recently got back from a trip to Europe. Went on my motorcycle. Stayed at these sites. (copy underlined text and google for more details on the sites)
Luxemburg, Camping Alzingen 2 Rue Du Camping l 5815 Alzingen www.SYNDICAT.LU
This site is very near to the motorway, the people on the site brilliant, one lady Pris has a CBR 600 and is very helpful regarding motorcyclists issues. The other lady on site when I was there, Sandy, also very helpful. Everything spotless, cater for caravans and motorhomes. It is near airport and town clock so there is a bit of noise. Very highly recommended. Its eu 3.75 per person and eu 4.50 per pitch showers free

    France.
GANNAT Camping Le Mont Libre Route de la Batisse 03 800 Gannat. This site in Gannat is a municipal site. Despite this it has a small pool, and the facilities are spotless. Very quiet location with splendid views. Its eu 10.80 for two people eu 7.60 for one. The amenities are good but only one flush toilet. Caters for motor homes but no one there with a caravan, but that isnt to say they dont cater for them.

AVIGNON Camping Du Pont D'Avignon. There is a site adjacent that is nearer to the Rhone and the centre but I preferred this site slightly removed. Good facilities with a pool
and only a ten minute walk from the historic centre of this splendid city with its famous bridge. Sorry have lost receipt so no details of charges.

Montigny sur Loing. Daugeron Caravanning Le Parc Du Gue
As the name implies, caters mainly for caravans but there are a number of pitches for tents by the picturesque lake. Very nice location is an understatement. eu 12 for the night, showers free, good facilities. Web site worth looking at.

VALRAS South France. A site that I can without hesitation advise you do not visit unless you are under 25 and into night life is Domain La Yole Camping Lodge. It is massive, and whilst the facilities are clean and very well presented, it is expensive. Thats not the problem, there is a disco on the nearby beach and the loud music goes on until 4 in the morning. Its so loud its impossible to sleep properly even with ear plugs. If you like Blackpool, this might be for you, but dont expect any donkeys, candy floss or rock. There is a large pool and plenty for the kids to do but as the site is so large it is very crowded. It may be a better bet at a more quiet time

@John R, thanks for this - you have put some useful, good info up on here !!

I am planning a trip to France for the summer, I think I will most likely be driving and not riding as there are a few of us going, but it sounds like you had a good trip...?

The purpose of my trip is to really take in the culture and visit the historic towns, and more importantly visit the cheesemakers (farms) and the vineyards - I am yet to really look into the details of the trip, so did you trial much of the above on your visit?

I am also not sure of my route yet (not really doing that well am I? ) but I will definitely be stopping by Avignon - but thatīs more because it is in my favourite film really........!
