I've been staying here for around 6 or 7 years now, usually for the Hay festival but also for friends birthdays. Hay is a mecca for book lovers and has some quaint pubs and shops.
The views are stunning around here and near by Hay Bluff is awesome with views for miles and miles.
The facilities are great, with a vegetable garden which you can live off. You can even book a fried breakfast, can't speak highly enough of the site.
View towards Hay Castle.
It's a short walk into town and over the River Wye.
Last time we stayed we hired canoes and paddled down stream for several miles where we were picked up and ferried back to Hay, a great day out.

I'm a Hay fan too! And that canoe trip sounds lovely.
Some friends stayed at Riverside last year (Hello | Riverside Camping | Accommodation | HowTheLightGetsIn). Right on the Wye. Think there are pre-pitched yurts this year too.
Can't wait for the festival season to kick off!
