Default Erecting your tent with the poles already in

Hiya, i read somewhere about someone erecting a dome tent withthe poles already in - as in you leave them in when you take it down and then it only takes a couple of seconds to erect it - any idea how to do that?
    Thanks in advance, Tara

It would be possible but you'd have to leave the poles extended maikng it a pig to transport and store. Although Khyam do it.

seen this done with a old epsilon, you just work from the middle of the pole pulling the joint apart on the bungee cord... down side is its very easy to make holes in the tent where its stretched across the pole ends and its even harder not to trap the flysheet in the pole when you snap it back together!..

I had a play with one of our Phads and reckon you could put it up easy (without pegs) in under 4 minutes doing properly (well fly and inner together) as its just a case of inserting 3 poles and poking the end through a whole... so i wouldn't risk damaging a tent to save seconds.

I don't thing its a reasonable alternative to doing it the recommended way. As Jen writes I also suspect it would nip or poke holes in the material. I also think it would be quite a feat just getting all the sections apart while still in the channels. I suspect they would keep popping back together again.

I'm not saying it couldn't be done but I suspect the time savings would be minimal especially if you consider the extra time needed to strike the tent and getting it back in its bag.

I'd like to see it done. Anyone got or prepared to make a video?
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu
