    bring midge repentant

It wasn't repellent that was needed. It was a flame thrower. As soon as I opened the tent up this morning it filled up with the little blighters. So much so that it was impossible to get my contact lenses in so had to ride with my glasses instead.

I even skipped breakfast as even although the deet was working they were getting in my eyes ears and mouth.

Great night though and lovely to meet you, Jen and the rest of the gang.

I had a good run home and back in Edinburgh by 8:30 with the tent drying in the garden as I type.
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu

    Hi

Yip, we just got back also..

The midges were really bad, so we made a sharp exit..

We talked to the owner on leaving, when they said that they have a major midge problem from july to sept ( nice to let us know )

In the woods at the back (behind where the tenting field is) there is a marshland , the breeding ground...

Oh well, we have a good tome and it was great chatting to you last night..

    Jen says Hi...

    regards craig

Yup, lovely site, lots of walks for the dogs very dog freindly ...
Beautyfull scenery & enough midgies to suck a bull elephant dry in 6.2 seconds.
fine when there was a breeze, wich was actully most of the day, but when the wind dropped..... *&$%^£*&
& even if you have a really good DEET spray that kills them before they bite.. the lil blighters are right in your face/eyes/nose etc...
Anoying as heck.Shame cause if they could just get rid of the lil *&%&*£$(* the site wouls be close to perfect. Talked to the owner on the way out & they said they had even gotten in a special bit of kit from the US to try & get rid of them.. but no joy
They were getting at the dogs to, Poor Tam got it good, eyelide puffed up like a ballon, one of the Leonbergers next to us had the same.
Thank God for fully enclosed tent
