got off an americanese VFR"interceptor" website, so if infos wrong, sue them...
    For a 6th Gen VFR800Fi;
    Maximum Weight Capacity = 399lb=180kg
(Including rider, passenger, cargo and accessories)

obviously i cant comment on you and your significant other's physiques, but 180kg could easily be the two of you in your riding clobber.
then factor in 20kg of givi luggage, 22kg of petrol, and you can see my point, you're overweight by two sacks of spuds before you even put anything in the luggage.

now you're going to tell me you've put uprated springs on it......

Now this is my type of camping!
my main kit difference is I use a bigger tarp(3x4m) and an army surplus bivi bag which is big enough to change clothes in.
I also ride a honda s-wing 125 scooter with top box.

Now that's the size of tarp I was looking for. Where did you get it?
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu

Tatonka do a polycotton one for about £60,they also do lots of other stuff.
Have a look here ,I get lots of stuff from this guy,he brilliant.
DD hammocks also do tarps in 2 sizes starting at £29 free postage
The main difference between the two manufacturers is the type of material.Poly cotton doesn't have so much condensation (if any) whereas nylon does.
Don't buy one just yet I'll dig out some pictures of what can be done with a large tarp,I often set mine up as a tepee, plenty of headroom(6 feet) and loads of floorspace.

here you go:The pictures all show the same size tarp and the different ways of rigging them, there are many more ways to set them.
My favourites are like in the picture with the tent. The tent door is just under the tarp for rain caover and leaves a huge living area.Another way is to use a hammock, but this needs trees or fenceposts,I have a hennessey hammock that has a mossie net and tarp built in and is almost impossible to fall out of unless you really try hard.

Thanks for that. I've ordered the Tarp XL* - *DD Hammocks from them which should fit the bill quite nicely.

    Goodness me. That was fast.

I ordered the tarp from DD Hammocks yesterday after 4pm and it arrived today at 8am.

Not opened it yet but they get 10/10 for speed of delivery.

just because you got a big bike doesnt mean you can carry more stuff. i happen to have a big bike that can carry a lot, but if you look in your handbook you will find a max load or at least a max kerbweight. subtract the weight of the bike from the kerbweight and that is how much you can carry.
so you can see a 150kg 125cc with a max kerbweight of 350kg can carry the same as a 250kg "tourer" with a 450kg kerbweight. obviously all bikes are different and how fast you can go loaded up does depend on your engine size, but you get my point.

this isnt usually a problem when your on your own, because most bikes are made for two so youve got at least another persons weight capacity. but it can limit your ginsters carrying capacity when you bring the other half, so get them riding lessons for xmas, or some decent walking shoes.

    And your point is
