Lime works well with most bites especially evil Thai mosuitos. Tiger Balm works well too but stinks and at least you've got limes for your beers!!

The Avon Skin So Soft seemed to work for me when I stayed in Glencoe at the Red Squirrel camp site. The buggers were everywhere then.
The funniest picture was of Geoff ( a fellow biker) which summed it up for me.....

All the midgies ive come across LOVE Avon SkinSoSoft.. They seem to think its human ketchup on me.
Deet.. Kills them But seriously Nasty stuff that abbsorbes through your skin & can have some nasty effects. Made Hubby (Largewayround) Sick for 3 days.
The only thing ive found that really seems to work & dosent make me or hubby sick (although does tend to dry your skin out if used for an exstended period. like 2 weeks) is called LifeSystems NaturalPlus 40+ & is Eucalyptus based.
Worked great, & im the one to test it on cause the lil bliggters love me.
(they also make a lower strenth one & a higher with DEET)
Here is a link to the website for the livesystems 40plus.. LIFESYSTEMS® Travel Healthcare - Expedition Insect Repellents - Natural Plus Insect Repellent
Be careful picking as they have have many products, containing deet ..
We can both highly recommend the 40Plus which does not contain Deet ..
I had a bad reaction to a deet product before, so I have to be careful.
