Arrrggghhhh!
We asked a site and they said "No because it's on the grass and will damage it".
We said it wasn't on the grass, but raised off and in fact on top of two groundsheets and a mat!
"Ahhh well the sparks might fly out and burn other tents" they replied. We explained that it was an official stove made by the tent manufacturer which had a special design and a spark arrestor built in to stop sparks getting out. And indeed it would burn the Tipi before anyone elses!
They then had to phone head office, who replied that we wouldn't be able to get out of the tipi in time if there was a fire and therefore the policy was that they didn't allow them!
I give in!
Cancelled our C&CC site booking and now have booked with a more sensible independent site who are happy to have a tipi with a stove.
