Just interested to know where people buy their camping kit from as a bit of market research, have the days of people trusting the big names like Millets, Blacks and Cotswolds gone in favor of hunting down a bargain on ebay?.. do people have any brand loyalty or is price and spec more important to you?

No real allegiance I have bought from most suppliers but I suppose latterly Go Outdoors are relatively local have had some great deals on tent related stuff
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu
I tend to do my research on the web and will sometimes buy on-line with no particular allegiance.
I've gone off buying stuff from ebay now.
But more often that not were buying stuff from the local stores around us.
What I don't get is the GoOutdoors card scheme thing. There's so many times we've been in and I can't find myself wanting to stump up £4 for a membership card for something that's £20. So I don't bother. I've done that 3 or 4 times now with them. They've got to be loosing custom with this scheme on the smaller purchases?
Lastly all of our tents bar my Khyam Biker have come from Somerset Camping. They seem to be good quality genuine retailers. They will price match if they can and hold stock, or can order..... and most importantly they phone you back when they say they will!!!![]()
Tentipi Safir 9 CP - Keeping us warm in the night.
Khyam Biker - Keeping me dry for the last few years.
We buy most of ours from Allweathers in Basildon they always seem to be the cheapest around.
I tend to do a bit of research and go for the best deal regardless of dealer
Mine have all come from friends and family. They have history and I am always skint!! Usualy the big ones for Wife, kids and all the additional stuff but more recently I have been looking for something smaller and will be in the camp shop in Lyndhurst tomorrow afternoon to see whats on offer for two people. Son says will not sleep under a tarp in a field with the bike and me!! Kids of today eh, don't know they are born! He will be wanting a sleeping bag next...![]()
I think weve gotten most of our main gear from Outdoormegastore. Good selection, prices & they actully ship stuff on time. let you know if theres an issue etc...
I hate companys that dont bother to tell you that .. Oh yeah, we ran out & wont be sending your order to you for 6 weeks....![]()
Depending on where I am and what I need, If I find something I like and need to replace an older Item I just buy it there and then.
