Well work took me into Edinburgh city centre and what with all this chat of self inflating mats and sleeping bags I found myself in an area were there are 3 camping shops within a hundred yards or so and ended up with BOTH a new sleeping bag and Therm-a-rest.
Millets Millets - Buy Outdoor Clothing, Camping Equipment and Walking Equipment from leading Brands such as Eurohike and Peter Storm have 20% off all sleeping bags and a "buy one get one half price" on all camping products. so ended up paying £94 when the combined cost was £140.
The bag is a down four seasons bag (comfort -4 to +20) which packs up to next to nothing (about the same as synthetic one season bags) and the Therm-a-rest is the Trail Lite 4 fat b'stard (I think they call it the large model).
Unfortunately i have to go away to the Essex with work for the rest of this fortnight so it will be a couple of weeks before I can test them out in anger.
My son has clocked them and is already eyeing both up for his forthcoming camping trip to the land of cuckoo clocks and chocolate.
All I have to do is pay for them now.
"Spare change for a Threm-a-rest guv."
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu
