Nice bit of sun over the past week or so and now it's due to change just as a pal and I are off to do our re make of "Deliverance" down the river Wye, leaving Glasbury tomorrow morning and heading down stream coming back Sunday. Still it will be a good opportunity to test out some of my recent purchases.
Ultrafit tent, Tesco sleeping bag and Gelert Xtreme Lite.
Report, on campsites, hopefully some pictures of the adventure to follow next week.

Jesus if I had read that before we went you would have thought I was copying you.....
Set of down stream, capsized twice on 2nd day, fight in Hereford on last night. Not our fault picked on by some young (20 something) scrotes who made the mistake that two nearly 50 year old eating fish and chips in a door way to keep out the rain were going to sit there and take a load of verbal threatening abuse and be spat on, when their bruises and cuts have healed they will hopefully think long and hard before picking on people again
Great time though in spite of the awful weather, beautiful scenery and unbelivably quite and peaceful. Glasbury to Hereford and only saw 16 people actually on the river in 2 1/2 days
Equipment worked well, sleeping bag no problems, warm enough and cosy, matress fantastic, only down side was the tent, that has to go.
Single skin (I got that to try to save on weight and bulk) didn't leak even in torrential downpours, but massive build up of condensation which when the wind battered the tent all drip off the inside onto what ever was underneath, me trying to sleep and my dry gear!!! Another downside was the very small porch, no room for anything except a pair of boots and a couple of very soggy items of clothing.
Still a lesson learnt, no harm done and it wasn't very expensive, it will make a great summer tent for my lad in the mean time I guess I'm going to have to start looking at an alternative.
