    Default My first camping forum.

    Hi to all,

Have been camping away on the motorbike a few times, and the other half has decided that camping is good. So we have indulged in a Coleman Coastline 8 man as our starter/first proper tent. Havent been away in this tent yet, and we are in the process of rounding up kit for our excursions.

For the biking side of things we have a Coleman coastline 2, which has a very small pack size, which suits the bike, as it fits in the top box.

Looking forward to roaming around the site for tips on good kit that works, and good campsites to visit.

    Pete.

hi pete, welcome to the forum
bike camping is good fun, as you'll find out. when i read the first bit about the 8 man tent i had a giggle, sorry. for motorbike camping its generally accepted that you need tentspace for an extra phantom person but some (bonkers)people use tiny bivi bags or tarps.
the way it reads is you are both on the one bike? so pack size and shape is pretty important for you then to fit it all on. weight is not such a big deal when you have an engine. im alone on a varadero so ive room for the kitchen sink on mine! when i have been away with a pillion weve had a pannier each and the camp gear strapped to the rack. i prefer hard luggage but you can get very good waterproof soft panniers. hopefully the good lady can survive with what she can fit in one rucksack sized bag!
