Hi people,
I have not posted for some time. I have been very busy with caring for my wife who has been very ill, but she is on the mend and I am back in circulation.
A lot has happened since I was last here and I have arranged to 'borrow' a friends field on the south side of the New Forest for a camping gathering in August. I have invited some camperholics with a varied range of units to spend a week there with me.
Having just sold my caravan, I am back to tenting, but 'in style' with a big Cabanon Rotonde and another canvas, square tent as an annex. I have not been camping since having a big meet last September and I am itching to get out in the wild again. The gathering in the forest being my big one for this year. We have loos and water, but no showers or power, so it is 'real camping' and at only 50 quid for a big pitch for up to 6 people. I have some spaces left, so if anyone is interested, I can offer it to CF uk members. [Aug 1st to 8th 2011]
It is not a camping site, but a big field with an events licence that belongs to a friend who has kindly let me have the gathering at such a cheap price, per unit, so if you would like to join us, you can call me direct on; 02380 482547.
I try to arrange a gathering that is 'open' to all campers every year, but with the high prices of sites this year, I have gone the 'self suficient' route.
Anyway, the offer is there if you want it!
I would also like to hear from any of you who have an 'unusual' type of camping unit, such as a Ti pi or a 'Teardrop', a retro camper, caravan or any unusual type of tent, folding camper etc. I am thinking of making my yearly gathering more of a great assortment of camping styles and having an open day for charity etc. The field I am using has a big boot sale on Sundays, so the public are 'on hand'.
This year I have already found a variety of units and have room for some more.
I hope I find you all well, happy and ready to enjoy the coming camping season.
Regards, Paol.
