We no longer have a dog so speaking as a non dog owner I don't have a problem as long as they are kept under control.

A well behaved dog is a joy to behold but there is few things worse when on holiday, in my eyes, than being kept awake all night by one that doesn't settle and an owner that doesn't care about others. This doesn't just apply to dog owners. Some parents need a good shake as well.
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu

Boris , I agree but mostly about the parents.. who think they're on holiday and forget about other people who are there trying to enjoy their holiday too..

We try to book out of school holiday season, and stay away from child friendly campsites....

having no maternal instinct i'd be happy if all kids were kept on mars till 18 years old, then held on a 10 year probation with repatriation at first offence... screaming brats GET MY GOAT!!!

pooch's, cant have enough of them ( well unless they are the yappy little handbag monster type!)... had a dog(s) all my life and had them with me 24/7 and think i prefer them to most people.

I like dogs. I had one for about 14 years. I also have had kids for a bit longer and I know which I prefer .

There is something nice about other peoples well behaved dogs coming over for a visit in the morning and it's always a good way to break the ice and meet your fellow campers.

Of course not everyone is so fond of dogs (or children) as their owners or me and you have to be aware that to them its just an unruly beast ruining there otherwise peaceful holiday,
