liner would def be useful, roll up mats help too, and if you don't have that then try and get hold of a bit of foam backing. There is nothing worse than spending a cold night where your sleeping bag and bedding gets damp, camping should be fun and with the right preparation comfortable. Just takes some planning.

I know there are lots of air bags or sleeping bags that are not too spacious when you packed them. Just like snugpac, it's small but are really comfortable to sleep in. Regarding about your car concerns, why not try to rent a bigger van for the whole trip so it could fit all your family members. After all you'll only this once or twice a year right?

I think it's probably better to go for a warmer 'down' sleeping bag these days, the way I see it is if the temperature suddenly drops then you can zip up close, but if it's a bit warmer you can leave the zip open and let the air in, we rarely get really warm weather in the uk so I would personally go for a winter or autumn season bag.

hmmm this little problem may have impacted my decision for valentines day, I was planning to pop over to france with the missus for the week-end and celebrate valentines day camping, but perhaps I have not considered the heat issue well enough here. Do you think this is still a good idea? I´m beginning to think not!

    Anyone got any bright ideas?
