Just spent a very enjoyable hour looking at everyones photos, so no work done this morning.

I've been camping for 50 odd years and still get away as often as possible. At the last count I have a Marmot lightweight, Vango Banshee, Hurricane (old version) and Omega 350, and a Kyham Freelander for when accompanied by husband and dogs.

We are just packing to spend a few days in the highlands and as we're just taking the small tents I wondered if a tarp might be useful for cooking outdoors? Does anyone have experience /advice about using a tarp? How hard are they to erect? How stable?which make is recommended? Any comments would be gratefully received.
