    That does the trick.
Yes I've actually taken to putting my normal pillow in a stuff sack and then I can normally find a space for it somewhere. It makes all the difference and fits inside my sleeping bag hood very nicely.

I have a similar problem.. I have quite a bad back , have for years now.. The bed at home, we have had many, and finally got one that suits..

Now as for camping , I love it.. when we go for our main holiday, a good proper airbed , we have had many brands but last year the wife got a Aerobed explorer double. Expensive!!.. Oh my it was worth it .. fantastic

I recently started going camping with the bike.. so I bought a Gelbert Self Inflating Mattress.. great I thought, it was only for 1 night ... how wrong I was .. with my back, had issues getting comfy .. so it now up for sale ..

I am going to get myself a Proper Airbed (single) for the bike.. maybe even a Aerobed, but they are heavy 3 kg, so I am maybe going to look around for a lighter one.

But I would highly recommend the Aerobed, you just need to adjust the pressure to suit. I would say tenting with this airbed , I get a better Sleep than at home...

Good Luck .. hope you find something that suits ..
I have got to agree with you on the Aerobeds we have the Actives(1 double and 2 singles for the kids) and they are great , I have tried loads of various beds over the years and the Aerobeds are the best well worth the money.

Take a box of wine, drink the contents, remove the foil bladder, rinse it out, leave to dry. It folds down to nothing, takes hardly any puff to inflate and is really comfortable wrapped in a t shirt. It can also act as and emergency water supply if needed

Thats a great idea , don't know if i would be capable of blowing anything up after a box of wine though and I think i would have take my bladder out to dry out
