Travel towel.

Does anyone have information on the best travel towel to buy? I have been reading a few reviews on them, some good, some bad. As all my camping trips are on the bike I am trying to build up the lightest, smallest kit possible.

I've pondered this before. The difference between the cheapest and the dearest is vast and some of the cheaper ones make some pretty impressive claims.

I've also seen in Costco microfibre towels for car use that were 3 foot by 2 foot that looked and felt exactly like the ones in outdoor shops. They were something around £10-£12 for five.

When I'm away for a few days I tend to steal my son's towel that he uses for diving. If I'm only away one night I just dry myself with the shirt I had on the day before.

bicycle or motorbike? if your on legpower then a decent shower is needed or you'll soon honk bad enough to scare the wildlife away, but on a motorbike then dont bother showering, and as boris said, yesterdays t-shirt is todays towel. you can have a good wash with a cupful of water and t-shirts are really good towels.

Well, as I really do like to have a shower I bit the bullet and bought a Gelert travel towel. It is quite large i.e bath towel size and comes in a neat zip up storage pouch. The morning after buying it I used it after showering and it really does work, well worth the outlay I reckon.

If I am only away for a night or two then I just take a packet of baby wipes and a bar towel,then it's straight in the shower when I get home.

I bought a "hand towel" sized one a few years ago and loved it, so earlier this year I bought another one about "bath towel" size (I think it was Lifeventure) and this is great.

I've used this for several outings and rate them highly, they are so easy to dry which is a huge bonus when under canvass!!!

I have a couple of these and rate them too. One neat trick i saw recently for getting them dry (in good weather) was to bungee them on the tent/tailpack and the windblast dries them very effectively. I tend to have acouple of clothes pegs to dry them on the tent guy ropes.

The Coghlan's Lightweight Fast Drying Camp Towel is apparently a good bet after reading the reviews.
Apparently, it's a bit on the small side but Coghlan's also sell a deluxe version that's a bigger size.

Since you are into biking, I can suggest wonder towel, its really small but can easily soak your sweat like a chamois leather.

I've got Large Soft Fibre Trek Travel Towel | GO Outdoors. Works really well
