Default Stoves cum heater for Tipi use

DaveS and I have been having a chat over in chatter about Tipis in general and as the topic has moved towards the more specifiic subject of heating them I've created a new thread here.

The options seem to be a proper sealed woodburning stove with flue such as
    Windy Smithy
    The Stunning Tents Company

If shipping in from overseas there isalso the well respected Four Dog Models but that is a whole new ball game with shipping and taxes.

Other alternatives such as open fires such as barbecues and fireboxes have also been mentioned but these will need more feeding that a purpose built stove.

So what do you use for in-tent heating and cooking?

And does anyone have any more suggestions?
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu

The Pipsqueak stove- Flat black looks like a possibility. Not sure if its big enough but I suspect so. The flue looks expensive though so might be worth trying to source elsewhere.

    I'll keep looking.

There's the Soulpad Blaze as well, but I'd read somewhere this was a rip off of one of the Windy Smithy stoves which I really hate to think of. Looking at them both they are VERY close!!

Just spoken to Jon from the Windy Smithy.
Very nice chap and we had a good discussion.

He says that about 50% of his customers manage to get the Wendy to burn all night, but about 90% with the Louis.
However the Louis is a 5" flue so requires an adapter to reduce to fit through the 4" sock of the Tentipi Tipi's.

He knows exactly what he's talking about and knows the sizes needed to fit the Safir.

I think the cost of the Louis with all the bits was about £511 all in. Cheaper for the Wendy obviously.

In the end after much consideration I'm going to go for the Eldfell I think.
The fact that it all packs down in to the stove and the box that comes with it, just does it for me I think. And I've actually seen it with my own eye's.

I've also just found some pics on Flickr of it.

So Eldfell it is for me......

Yes I was pretty much coming to the same conclusion. Which one did you go for, Stainless or mild steel? I might try and borrow one and fire it up first before I decide. They had one that had been used in the shop.

Stainless. Didn't fancy a rusting stove that needed maintenance.
