Default What stove do you have?

So let's do a trawl then on what stoves people use and why.

I started off with a simple gas cannister stove from Lidl, but it took ages to boil anything, and the spare cannister leaked in my pannier so all my clothes smelt of gas not to mention the concern that this was the pannier closest to my exhaust.

I was also envious of the other boys having petrol stoves so I had to buy one.
I found a second hand one on UKGser a Coleman Peak 1 petrol stove.
It has continued to work really well and boils stuff really quickly.

When away with the big tent (and the car) we use a cheap single ring cartridge jobby a bit like the pic below

When away myself on the bike I take a little Calor Gas micro stove as below

I must admit we don't really cook much. When away with the family it's breakfast and cups of tea in the tent and meals at local pubs. When on my own on the bike it's the essential cup of tea and not much else.

I have thought about these petrol ones but they do seem a bit of a faff when all I need it for is boiling a cup of water.
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu

Coleman featherlight 442 (predecessor to the peak1)... its now at least 10 years old and bar a few dents and some rust still going strong.

only problem i have had is a naffed pump/plunger seal which i suspect was down to me soring over winter with fuel in, changed the rubber seal(or lack of) to a ring of leather and shes as good as new.

although these are dual fuel Coleman 'suggest' you use Coleman fuel however so far its only had petrol and no problems.

One of those but find it a bit bulky on the bike so I've resorted to my trangia

I've just gone mad and spent 50 quid on a Primus Gravity II. I sit and stare lovingly at it when I'm at home.

Took it to three rallies so far and it's most excellent. It has the three things I want from a gas stove, ability to peg it down so it won't blow/fall over, built in ignitor and a really sensitive control so I can cook on a very low heat when required.

In my defence it's only the third cooker I've bought since 1983 and normally I'm really tight! I use a cartridge like the top image.

How do you get on with the Trangia?
They always look so crap. As if they couldn't boil anything.

Strangely enough I've just bought a new one and tried it tonight. basic does the job. Obviously now as quick as a gas burner but boils water, fries bacon and eggs, cheap to run and packs up small and light. If you want to you can now by a multi fuel burner to run them.

I'm intrigued. What one did you buy and how long to boil enough water for a mug of tea?
As for the multi fuel burner. What additional fuels does it let you use.
