    Thumbs up BBQ thoughts??

I had a non descript folding BBQ last year... painted steel, just dug it out and it is completely rusted up.

I could bring it back with a wire brush, but the wife doesnt like the look of it.
So i was looking at something a bit more durable and came across the 'Son of ~hibachi' Anyone got one, or have an opinion??

pics and writeup here son of hibachi

whats putting me off is the price..
I like the fact its all stainless and cast iron, and lights quick (apparently)
Im a charcoal man, so dont really want gas..

    any other 'quality' options?
    Help?

    Hi

Have you seen the new Marco Pierre White barbecues? I saw one in our local store and they look very well made. I suppose Marco wouldn't put his name to something rubbish would he?

This seems to be a good price: Continental Product Engineering Ltd - marco pierre white the edge Thats the one i saw in the store. It has nice wooden side tables. No warming rack though i dont think.

How interesting! I've never seen anything like that.
I've copied some pics so that people can see what it looks like more easily.

Yes I've seen some of these. They look good quality but not really that portable.
We've been using a small gas BBQ for some years that works reasonably well.
It's very similar to this one and we got it from Trago Mills for about £20.

Ok, fair enough. I suppose it would be more suited to caravan than tenting.

Did you see the little one they had on that site, it was about £40. ill see if i can find it again.

    Hi
I have had one of these for about a year and have been very pleased. Although I don't find it ready for cooking in 10 mins about 15 and it's ready to go, so it is very fast. Also when you have finished you just close it up and put it into the bag and all done there is no need to wait for the charcoal to burn out.
I would not hesitate to recommend it and would certainly buy another one.

the heat makes the steel rust, or helps it along a lot. cast iron will rust

I've decided I'm going to buy a Cobb BBQ.
I saw one in operation this last weekend and have fallen in love with it.

I've had a chat with DaveS about this and it seems there are two versions of the COBB around. The older one with the plastic base and the newer stainless steel version so watch for those bargains. You may be buying old stock.

I'm sure Dave can fill us in as he will be an expert soon
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu

They must be quite old. I've had mine a few years and it's got the stainless grille outer.
