    Default Cable for mains

    We are going camping this summer and for the 1st time got an electric pitch, and i was going to make my own extentison...
    What cable do i need, i have the blue plug for the end?

    Hi you need 16amp three core orange sleeved cable and for the other end you could do with a three outlet rcd protected socket good luck (the rcd is essential in a tent where theres a chance of damp rain etc.) maltins

    I would just add to this that it's much safer to buy one of the pre-made one's. I got mine for around the £35 mark.

    Hi DaveS
    I actually own two premade ones both purchased for around £30-£35 each but I was merely
    explaining what else was needed to make up a campsite extension lead ,you should notice in
    my original reply after commenting a three socket rcd unit was required I wrote (good luck)
    as I am not totally sure you can purchase these on their own happy camping
