    Default Cobb BBQ

So who else other than MOM has a Cobb BBQ?
I need to some final convincing to part with my cash.
The good lady as ever is unconvinced, especially when I can buy a nice small Webber BBQ for half that! The most important thing of course is that I don't have one, and I want one therefore I must have one.

There appear to be two versions of the Cobb, one older and one current. They seem to be referred to as the Cobb Classic and the Cobb Premium.

The Cobb Classic has a plastic bottom (that's probably doing a total injustice by the way!).

The Cobb Premier has a stainless steel mesh bottom.

The Classic is currently on eBay as I write this at around £69.99 with £9.99 P&P on top.
Cobb BBQ on eBay (end time 30-Aug-10 16:49:45 BST)

The Premier is on eBay as well at £92.99 + £9.99 P&P.
NEW COBB BARBECUE BBQ GADGET SHOW HAIRY BIKERS COOKING on eBay (end time 10-Aug-10 21:15:20 BST)
However I've seen them cheaper..... if you have please post up the best price.

Mine's a premier (of course ) If memory serves me I bought it from here. They throw in a free bag, cook book and roast rack I think. I rang them and found them very helpful.

There's one on this site for £89.95 but they don't say what accessories you get.
Don't forget to check p & P charges on top.

I saw a Cobb last weekend on a site in the Forest of Dean......I'm not sure what delights it was producing and I never quite got around to walking over for a chat

I really like the idea but yet again it's a big chunk of money to pay if it doesn't get used.......

I've got one of the fold up Outwell's but it's had to be painted twice and it's twisting with the heat, we've also got a Lidl £5 special that we were going to use then abandon in Devon 2 years ago but the bloody thing refuses to die!!!!!

Normal BBQ food starts to lose it's macho appeal after a week so wondered if the Cobb really is that good???

The Cobb is fantastic for cooking different meals on.. so BBQ one night, stir fry the next, a roast next and then a pizza. We've done all of those quite successfully.
The only issue with the Cobb is the cleaning.... it creates a right mess and its a big thing to clean. If you can over that it's great.
Oh and the BBQ food doesn't really taste BBQ'd, but you do find it is much jucier and much more flavoursome.
We love ours and it comes with us everywhere.

I recently invested in one, after hesitating for a LONG time, but have yet to use it.

I'm not sure that it will be used for anything other than as an oven and I certainly didn't get any accessories other than the extension ring for large joints.

There's more to clean than on a standard BBQ. There's the lid if it use it, the grill that you cook on and the bottom where all the fat drips down in to. It's all very good quality stainless steel so no problem there, there is just a lot of it.
