Hi, I'm looking to do some hiking and camping in Wales, I've done it before but using borrowed kit. I'd like to go again but I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to buying kit. It all needs to work well in the Welsh rain and wind, and the cheaper the better but I'm open to all recommendations.

Things I'm after are:

1) Waterproof jacket. Currently I've found one for ~£50, it's a North Face jacket "Resolve", looking for opinions on this or better suggestions either for quality or for price.

2) Rucksack. Will be carrying clothes, food, tent parts etc so needs to be big. Currently looking at a very cheap (£15) rucksack, again looking for opinions on quality + price. Doesn't need to be waterproof, I already have one of those bag liners which I know works fine.

3) Cooking equipment to be carried, it's not just going to be driven to a campsite. Not sure here, I used a Trangia last time which is kind of slow but I can put up with that because I know it works in the wind. Can get them for ~£35, again looking for quality and price opinions.
