Camping Lighting and stoves...

    Default Camping Lighting and stoves...

    Hi Everyone!

    Ok my partner and i are new to camping, we have a tent air bed sleeping bags folding tables and chairs, but can anyone recommend tent lighting and cooking stoves?? we dont want to spend loads, but want to be comfortable at the same time... Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Assuming it's occasional use and you don't plan to cook in high winds then you can do a lot worse than a small gas suitcase stove. A little bulky and gas canisters are relatively cheap. You should find one for under £10 for the stove.



    If you want to push the boat out consider one of these jobs. I use a couple of single burner ones but the double (or even the triple one) look like the dogs danglies but they are £80-100. Great in wind and fuel (petrol) is cheap and plentiful



    Lighting wise for the tipi I use a paraffin Tilley lamp but they are not really practical in a regular tent so these UFO lights are popular. At only a couple of pounds at wilkisons or Dyas type shops they are cheap and work well

    You can try one burner backpacking stove, its easy to use and most of these stoves only weigh for about 0.5 lbs. so its not to heavy to carry.
