    Default Xped Down sleeping mats

if you want a warm and comfortable night's sleep get one of these. They knock Thermarests into a cocked hat. My wife got one first in an effort to try and stay warmer. I had one go on it and went out and bought another. We have got the 7" XL - can't remember the exact name but it basically says its 7" thick and longer than normal. About £110, which sounds a lot but honestly it is at least as comfortable as your bed at home. The down also reflects heat back to you - a bit like putting your hand on polystyrene so you sleep a lot warmer. The latest models have a built in pump, older models use the stuff sack as a pump. They also pack up as small as the Thermarests which have now been donated to our son's.

    Thoroughly recommended.

I'll second that. I've got a down 9, which from your description is the same. I'd had it over two years when it started to go down over night. It was replaced with a brand new bed. The new one has different valves and a built in pump.
