We bought this as a bit of a novelty for my son a while ago and didn't really expect much from it. It's 28 x 28 x 60mm (about 2 1/2 inches by 1 inch in old money) which is small and light enough to hang of the little loops supplied in most small tents.
In use it is surprisingly bright. OK so its not bright enough to read small print by but it's more than bright enough the get the sleeping kit sorted at bedtime or to see to go to the loo.
It's proved itself so useful its now found a permanent place in the camping kit. For around £5 from Maplins I have to highly recommend it.

Replacement batteries are £2.49 each and you need two. Hmm... it would cost about the same to trash the thing and buy a new one. (Not very ecologically sound though.)
It apparently does about 30 hours on one set and we have it on for no more than 5 minutes a night while we get the bed rolls out.
If you went away every weekend thought the year I reckon you will need new batteries in about 3 and a half years time.

I have got one of these = recommended. At home I clip it to my bedside lamp in case of power cuts - we haven't had one since I started doing ths![]()
Awesome gadget. I come across lot of camping lanterns like the above one. They are likely to run out of the batteries easily. I need a bright and powerful lantern for camping, there are so many around Ebay, camping stores ect.. Has anyone got one cheap and found it to be fantastic?
I am selling a lots camping lights, some with remote control and have long time discharge rechargeable batteries, it a good choice for camping use. we can help you.
I've used mine several times now and love it
Only use it while I'm getting in my sleeping bag and settling down but it works great, weighs next to nothing and packs away in the smallest of spaces.
