    Default Which tent?

    Hi there,

we have been camping/caravanning for about 10 years. Started with a large frame tent, then got trailer tent, next a small caravan - this got to small as children became teenagers so we got a large folding camper a pennine pathfinder. We sold that at the beginning of this year because it's to big and to much hassle, our teenagers are not very interested in coming with us now so we are thinking about going back to a tent.

We want something big enough to stand up in, have second bedroom just in case youngest decides to come and have enough room for table and chairs etc. Also needs to be fairly quick to put up as we want to do more weekends away.

We have been looking at an Outwell nevada M - is Outwell a good make? are there better makes? Dont know anything about tents so any advice on this tent or anything similiar would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Carol

    Outwell are a great make.
I have an Outwell Norfork Lake and they are very good quality. You pay for it of course, but in my opinion Outwell are one of the market leaders in camping innovation as well as quality of product.

I've seen the Nevada M up and it's great tent.

If you want something truly quick erect then look at the Khyam range... or the Tentipi range for something very different. Tipi's go up in about 5 - 10 mins. We've just bought one.

    Thanks Dave,

we also liked the bear lake 4 but not sure if we can justify the extra cost at this stage. Decisions decisions lol.

I had a look at the khyam range but didn't like the looks of any - husbands into what's practical, I'm into what looks nice lol!

Will have a look at the tentipi sounds interesting!

If you don't like the Bear Lake 4 cost you won't like the Tentipi cost... just make sure you're sitting down.

Yes the Khyam are very errr functional. My wife had the same conversation with me....
    Wife> They look horrible...
Me> Yes, but look how quickly they go up and down.
Wife> Yes, but they look horrible.
    Me> Ok, next choice then!

I love the Bear Lake's, they look fantastic.

    LOL - yeah similar conversation.

I do like the looks of the tipi ones - just trying to work out whether we can justify the extra cost, can you really have a fire inside them? (meant stove obviously not open fire:-) ) not sure about no windows though?

Thinking maybe get the Nevada and see how much we use it in the first year and then maybe upgrade.

You can have both. An open fire in some sort of pit, firebox or barbecue or a plumbed in stove complete with flue and even a water heater.
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu
