Default Tentipi Safir 9 CP Tipi

Well you may have gathered I've gone and done it. I've bought a Tentipi Safir 9 in cotton / poly along with the comfort floor.

I've pitched it in the garden and given it a good soaking with the garden hose and so far all is well.

I do have a couple of questions though.

Any idea when you would use the small guy lines at the base of the tent right down at the skirts of the tent?

I'm looking for a way to hang up clothes to dry. Tentipi do a drying ring but they are really taking the mickey when they ask £82 for it. Has anyone made something that fixes to the central pole or is there a better way?
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu

Low down guy lines were for use in windy weather I recall to stop the wind getting up underneath.

As to the drying ring, we have one of the Tentipi one's but there is nothing to them. You can buy pole thingies which fit on to a pole.

Small Pole Hanger, wood stoves, camping equipment, tent, wood burning, portable heater

I thought that but when I pulled one to peg it out it pulled the skirt out from inside the tipi. It may well have been different had I the floor fitted though.

They look useful. What about the tentipi drying ring. Is it literally a metal ring that you hook on or is there more to it? How do you fit it?

I've just taken another look in the light of day and they are for holding the vents open to get a bit of airflow. The reason it pulled the skirt out when I tugged it was due to them also being held closed (to the skirt) with velcro.

    It all makes sense now.

I've also had to make a plate for the foot of the pole to stop it sinking into the grass.

Well we haven't really tried the Tipi in anger yet that happens on Thursday when we're away.
The drying ring is a set of vertical fabric strips with rings sewn in these go down each of the vertical lines on the tipi and attach at the top and the bottom'ish. Then the ring made of a very lightweight metal, possibly titanium, so I guess is where the cost is slots in to the rings.
I will take some photo's on Thursday of everything and post them up so that you can see. You could easily make something similar.

As the tent is still wet and therefore "stuck" in my back garden it thought it was time to see how the floor went in so I've just fitted it for the first time. I had a bit of a struggle getting the toggles through the rings as there wasn't a lot of space with the elastic holding the toggle on being so wide. I wouldn't fancy trying to do it with cold hands.

On the floor front I was planning to leave it attached and strike the lot as one. Have anyone tried this yet and if so, are there any tips on the best way to pack it as one?

Yes we have done this. Nothing to do other than when releasing the Tipi 8 tension buckles, release the floor one's a little too.
And when putting the tent up just tension them as well as the tipi buckles. Works fine and the tent still packs in the same bag no problem.

    Then what did you do?
Leave it zipped up or unzip?
Tuck the floor inside the cone before folding?
    or was there another way?
