If the weather is kind next weekend I may just nip out for a nights camping somewhere local to see how it performs compared to my trusty Delta, If you don't hear from me then you will know that I have frozen to death in the quest for the ideal tent.

Good move Andy. The tipi clan grows. I'll look forward to seeing it.

Where would be planning to go as I could be up for a night under the stars next weekend.
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu

Not sure where I will go, depends on the weather of course, have you any suggestions? Anywhere within 150 miles is local as far as I am concerned.
I also found this last night, a bit academic as I have already ordered one but it may be informative to others.

Just a wee update, I got the Juno on Tuesday but the weather has been so crap I have not had the chance to do a test on putting it up/taking it down yet. The pack size is good as far as I am concerned being slightly shorter and a little bit fatter than the Delta that I use now. It will fit on the bike no problem as I always go camping solo I just strap the tent/folding seat etc on the pillion perch.

I will take a picture of the two tent packs to give some idea of the size as soon as I can get outside when it is not bl**dy raining.

Ive had one of these I use on the bike for over a year and its light enough to pack with masses of room. Only downside is the ground sheet is noisey and not brilliant.

    Craig,
How wrong can you be? It's only April and I tried the tent today!

Here is the pack compared to my Delta on the right.

Getting it up was easy, wish life was really like that.

    Plenty of room inside.

And, most importantly................I can stand up inside it!!

Yes, yes, I know it is not tensioned properly, and I did not peg down the guy ropes but it was just a quick test to see how easy it was to put up and how much room there was inside. To be honest I could get the bike in there as well as me.

I got to try the new tipi at the Piel Island rideout and I have to say I am very happy with it, in fact I like it. I admit to being a bit worried about condensation with it being a single skin affair but it was quite cool on the Saturday night and there was no sign of anything trickling down the inside...........steady now, I am talking about condensation here! Obviously the ventilation system, three around the bottom and two large vents at the top works very well. It also rained a bit early on the Sunday and nothing leaked so all is good with the merchandise and I like it.
As you can see from the pictures in my previous post there is loads of room inside, so much so that you can just throw stuff in and not worry about tripping over things, I had my bike gear, camp bed, chair, cooking stuff and all the usual rubbish you should not bring on a trip and I reckon I could have got the same again in without too much trouble
Did I mention I like it?
