I still can't make my mind up.....
I've just seen the Khyam Highlander for £99 but at 80cm pack length it's a bit long for strapping to the back of the bike.
I might actually find what I'm looking for one day, or have I already in the Phad?
This is a discussion on Do I buy a Tarp? within the Tent Related Questions forums, part of the Tents category; ... things may have changed then, i was told by the head honcho of Colman UK last year (when we ...
... things may have changed then, i was told by the head honcho of Colman UK last year (when we were discussing our new tents for this year) that the x3 was being dropped but the x2 would carry on.
it may be the roll over stock from last year, as I reported on this forum colman screwed up big time last year when they moved production from one chinease manufaucture to another, the new manufacture wasnt up speed and for 4 of the 6 month season Colman had no stock of tents in Europe and the USA... the stock they found was relocated from shelves in Australia!!! up shot was they left a lot of people high and dry (us included, and why I switched to buying our team kit from Khyam in the end!). The ozzy stock turned up so late the camping season was over and end of season sales already starting hence the dealers frantically dumping the stock (at cost) that they got 4 months late and didnt want to be stuck with over the winter (the £80-90 deals are what the dealers were buying it at).

Well for me if mine caught fire or blew away I would buy the same again. There are other tents that I would like but for the mix of usability and being able to fit inside a pannier (leaving the topbox free for my helmet when I stop) means I can leave the bike parked up with all the camping gear hidden away.
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu
Just to confuse you even more..............
Have a look at the SunnCamp MX Tourer Plus............
This is another take on the "Biker" idea, giving you a space to tuck your pride and joy away in as well
This is supposed to pack down to 58cm!!!!
I've a few SunnCamp bits and pieces and they all seem well made, so I'd hope their tents are the same.............
Some info on the Sunncamp MX Tourer Plus Motorbike Tent 2 Man here including a link to a review.

well I've spent me money and ordered a Phad X3 while I can get one.
shame I missed the £80 deal at Go Outdoors but you can't will 'em all.
I'll report back when it arrives and I've had chance to look at it.
Ian
Good on you. Don't blame me if you don't like it though
If you want to wait till the warmer weather before giving it an outing have a look at POSSIBLE meet on a remote island in cumbria If it happens it should be a great weekend.

back to the drawing board,
just had a call to say they don't have any in stock and wont be getting any.
looks like Jenna is right
the hunt is back on as I don't really want to pay what Go Outdoors are asking
I'm glad it's not just me that has these dilemmas
So many times I've debated about buying something, only to find when I take the plunge the damn things not available anymore
Look on the bright side, somebody might be just about to bring out the answer to your problem.......
Good luck!!!
I do still have a couple new x2's to get shot off but obviously not as big as the x3.
I now have switched to khyam and vango so these are just sitting on the shelf, plan was to bung them on ebay when things warm up but dont really care when they get sold as long as they do. £100 each inc uk mainland delivery or £95 each if bought toghther.
(and before anyone says yoemans are doing them for £88... mine will be £50 when i dont have any so there!!)
