Default Vango Alpha 200 - Thoughts?

Hello, I came over from the XRV site, and this is my 1st post on this new forum.

Last year, I bought a Vango Alpha 200 tent and haven't had the chance to pitch it yet...

Care to share any thought about this tent?

    Thanks

    Regards from Portugal

Hi PerfectStranger and welcome to the site. It's a little quiet here but the forums are new and the more we contribute the more we will get out of it.

As for the Vango they are have a good reputation and assuming your not planning an Everest expedition it should do you proud so get out there and use it. Even back garden camping can be fun but nothing can match waking up to a strange place with stunning scenery.

I'm off soon round some of the more remote parts of Scotland for the best part of a week. Me a bike a tent and a wish to see more of my home country.
I went to the zoo recently. The only animal there was a small dog. It was a shihtzu

    Hi

I am over from XrV also.. I bought the same tent as you, vango alpha 200 , for using when I go away on the bike, I like the size when packed (very small). easy to pitch .. yip .. you can hold the tent in one hand and push the poles through..

    Headroom, Nope...

Weather proof... It did great at Glencoe 3 weekends ago.. I stayed very dry ..
and easy to put away in 5 minutes..

All in all, for the money , very good tent.

Looks good, only drawback I can see, if I've read it right, is you need to put the inner up first which is not nice when it's raining.

yip, it is inner first .. bit of a thought if its bucketing down..

I dont like pitching in rain, so usually try to wait it out.. for a 5 minute break. But I does up real quick , like 5 minutes tops .. flysheet on / pegged out etc ..
