    Talking gelert beyond orion 3

been meaning to write a review on this tent for a couple of weeks now .

this is the best tent i have ever owned !!!!
luxury for 2 , very compact and light . great for motorcycle camping and the spec is something else !
5000mm h/h ripstop nylon flysheet . alloy poles that join in hub blocks forming an unbelievably rigid structure.
plenty of room in the porch and inside for gear. this tent will run with tents 3 times the price . was looking at the vango omega 3 and glad i didnt get one now. this has better room and better spec.
cant fault it " ten out of ten " 10/10

have to say i have steered clear of gelert as the quality seamed to be aimed at the cheaper end of the market (rather buy something once and have it last) but they do seam to be turning things around a bit lately and i have shifted from some colman stuff to gelert and its ok.

Never really looked at this tent (tar'd with same brush and all that) but the specs are pretty good, in fact they beat most tents out there and everything in the same price bracket with ease!

8.5mm ally poles, 1.20m by 2.30m interior (a good 3 man), exceptional HH, and a respectable weight... for just over £100!!!!

Please keep us posted on how it lasts as it could a very good enrty level technical/backpacking tent.

    Thumbs up Best Tent Ever

Used the Orion 3 for 4 months backpacking in Africa. Best tent I've ever used, loads of space even though I'm 6'5" and had my wife with me. Took a ridiculous amount of punishment and made every camper we met jealous, especially those that had spent 3 times the price and had less room and broken poles. Can fit 4 adults sitting upright in the main area of the tent playing cards, hiding from storms etc. Not the lightest tent but my 5' wife could carry the Orion 3 attached to her back pack.

Looks like a nice tent for the price..

The 5000 waterproof rating is what I wanted to see, for the rain up here..
and nice and small /light for the bike..

And the 10/10 review is very encouraging .

    Hi,
    Is this a dome/geodesic design?
Is it stable without the lines?
    Thanks!
