"Mine is up at present waiting for 14 yo son to have a couple of nights in it before going off on DofE a week on saturday. I suggested he try out sleep mats etc before leaving.... "

I reckon that's a good idea!!!! It's way better to find out any issues with his kit at home, then at least it gives you time to get it sorted before he goes....

ive had an EIGER (bit smaller than yours) and now im on the BIKER (bit bigger than yours) and both were/are completely reliable in the wet and with the pole system etc.
i agree with the strange doors khyam put in their tents, the mesh door in the inner could be better and i wish they were "D" shaped not "U" shaped so an open door would hang out of the way, but hey ho you cant have everything. also my biker has toggles on the outer to hold the doors open you can operate quickly one handed, but on the inner its like three shoe laces and its a bit of a pain. i keep meaning to sew my own toggles in there

I'm still thinking about my options for a porch type area........
Rather than buying a universal type awning/porch I'd really like to use a quality tarp and a bit of ingenuity!!!
I just want to be able to extend the "covered" area if the weather turns bad so we're not huddled inside the tent.
DD Hammocks do a good tarp and I'm really tempted, just don't tell the wife!!!!!

my biker has a huge porch but its for storage really, as its too low to sit in in a regular folding chair, im about 3" too tall. i have just bought a lower chair to see if that solves the problem.
the freelander was the one to get if you want standing room in the porch, but that packed bigger and heavier and there are limits.....
or i could buy a bigger motorbike? but theres not much bigger than the the one i got now.....

I had wondered if I could use velcro in the same way, the shoelaces can be a pain!

I've now got 2 days off work, time to experiment using this with the Igloo I think........

    It's raining...................
