    Default Which retailer?

Hi guys, just joined the site. We are buying our first large family tent this winter ready for next summer. Can anyone recommend a reliable stockist/knowledgable shop to deal with?
We need advice and a good price!

Hello NigelBlack, you could try my friend's company Camping Online, ask for Kevin, they deal with family tents and other camping equipment. Or if he doesn't have in stock what you're looking for he can point you in the right direction. I buy all my kit from there.

There's plenty to consider when choosing a tent, depends on your budget.

Hi nigelblack25, We have just purchased 2 Gelert beyound starview 5 man tents, with canopy, footprint and carpets.
They are great tents with plenty of room.
We orderd ours from aspinalls caravans-camping Graham the owners was more than helpfull and we got FREE next day delivery also.
Take a look at the tents and see what you think. We managed to get the 2 sets for £300 each.

Usually I would suggest going to an online discount shop for a quick bargain, however, my brother bought a cheap tent for 10 people from Tesco Direct and it broke after being used about three times. I know it is more expensive, but it is probably best to go to a specialist shop for this kind of thing. The only places I really know are Decathlon, but I have often found the big "chains" of companies service to be unreliable and you often do not get a specialist in the subject.

Sorry to not be of more help here, maybe head in to your local outdoor shop! That would be my advice.

I have also heard good things about Decathlon, I mean the staff are not always the best as "Road to Nowhere" mentioned, but what do you expect with big chain stores like that! The quality of stuff is pretty good, especially if it is your first tent.

    Hey there Nigel,

A good family retailer I know of is Camping Equipment, Outdoor Clothing | Simply Hike UK. A lot of good brands, and quite a large range of Tents as well as other equipment for the family. I can't fault their service one bit. Also they have product videos within the site, these are extremely helpful.

I do wish people would just say "I work for them and would recommend them" instead of playing at being a 3rd party
